Spectrum

Magazine Student Work

In this Advanced Typography project, students first researched and wrote about one type-related subject. Topics ranged from reviews of design podcasts and movies, to interviews, to research about type designers.

Students then pooled their writing and used that as the content for their magazines.

Students learned and used advanced typesetting skills in Indesign, created grids and systems, and created finished printed magazines.

Brendan Callahan’s Spectrum takes design cues from 90s typography and other sources to create a visually compelling, yet still readable publication.
